For more than 35 years, Dogs for the Deaf has been rescuing dogs from shelters where they might otherwise be euthanized and training them to help people with disabilities live safer, more secure lives. These highly-trained dogs are given a new lease on life, and so are our human clients! Our dogs provide companionship and invite conversations, making the person with hearing loss feel less isolated. They alert their person to important sounds like fire alarms, oven timers, phone ring, doorbells, and baby cries. DFD maintains a lifelong connection to all dogs we rescue and all people we help.
